HERETIC - Pronunciation: \ˈher-ə-ˌtik, ˈhe-rə-\
1 : a dissenter from established religious dogma; especially : a baptized member of the Roman Catholic Church who disavows a revealed truth
2 : one who dissents from an accepted belief or doctrine : nonconformist

Heretic is an interesting word. I've always thought of this word using the first meaning. In that case it would not be very complimentary.
In the second meaning, however, it can be different. Making a stand against something we know is wrong or for something we know is right. So maybe it would not be so bad being called a heretic!
